Custom Sets

I've been having so much fun making all of these.  I love being creative, especially when it comes to fashion.  I wanted to share my new creations with you guys :)

Fashion Dream Job- Stylist

[GAT RIMON LEGGINGS x A.L.C. LILY FOX FUR VEST x BOOTIES FROM NELLY.COM x AMERICAN VINTAGE SWEATER x HERMES BIRKIN BAG x SUNGLASSES FROM LASTYLISTMOM.COM x FIONA PAXTON CHAIN BIB NECKLACE]

I actually made this one for a contest.  This is a real funky & trendy look for this season.  I love the mix of these colors & these leggings are amazing.

The New Chic

[AZTEC MESH DRESS FROM MISS SELFRIDGE x BLAZER FROM HOUSE OF FRASER x BOOTIES FROM NELLY.COM x JCREW SUEDE CLUTCH x MANUMIT CUFF x ALEX & CHLOE HEART STUD EARRINGS x RING FROM MIMI BOUTIQUE]

This one was holiday inspired.  It's definitely something that I would wear.  Again, I'm loving these colors and I am obsessed with this bag!

Into the Night with Armani Exchange

I made this one for an Armani Exchange contest.  I had to create a NYE outfit inspired by their 2011 Holiday collection.  The dress, clutch, bracelets & earrings are all from Armani.  The shoes are Sergio Rossi.  Jacket is from the outnet.com, and this gorgeous ring (super expensive) is from Forzieri.

Vogue Inspired

For this set, I tried to recreate the model's outfit.  I'm in love with this vintage Chanel bag. Skirt is by Vivienne Westwood, shirt from Tillys, shoes are Prada and this coat is from Mango. It's very simple & chic.

Hope you like these!  I will be posting more this week.  I hope you're all having a great day.

SPECIAL REQUEST: Plus Size Sets

I got a special request yesterday on my blog to create some sets for plus size women.  I'm really happy that I was asked to do this because it's actually something that I wanted to do soon.  I hope that you like these looks!

Plus Size

First I'll start off with what the models.  I thought these were great outfits for the holiday season.  The model in blue is wearing a long belted tunic from City Chic over a pair of leggings. The model in red has on a wrap dress fom Bloomingdales over black tights.  The model in mustard is wearing a Prairie New York Charlotte dress from Bloomingdales over black tights as well.  I really love this mustard dress.  All of these are great colors for this season.

The grey sweater dress is from newlook.com and it would look great with a printed scarf and knee high boots.  The scarf is from examiner.com but you can find one like this almost anywhere.  These boots are from Avenue.  It's a great neutral color that will go with anything. To make this outfit stand out more try a bright shade of nail polish like this one from OPI. It goes great with this.

I thought this purple floral dress was really pretty.  It's from debenhams.com.  To break up the print & bring in your waist, you could wear a belt similar to this one from Old Navy.  It would go really cute with these black knee high boots from Wholesaleclothing4u.com and you could put on a pair of tights.  These boots or pumps would also go great with this black lace dress.  I love the sleeves.  It's from yoursclothing.co.uk.  Both dresses look nice with this bow bag from H&M.

These indigo jeans & long tan cardigan are from denehams.  Cardigans are great for winter.  I think it goes well with these flats from JCPenny & an envelope clutch like this one from Jane Norman.
This black & red kimono top, also from denehams, would also go great with jeans or black pants.  Try wearing a red lip like this one from Nars.

The tan wrap blouse is really pretty and you can make it a casual trendy outfit with jeans like this from denehams and ankle boots like these from shoestruck.  I added in this long cross necklace from debshops.  It adds a nice touch.

The other accessories I included in this set are these sunglass from Marc Jacobs, gloves from Modcloth, silver bangles from debshops and this gold/pearl necklace from fashionoffigure.com.

Plus Size 2

This other set is just of models wearing some outfits that I thought were really cute.  The dress in the middle is perfect for this time of year, especially with NYE around the corner.  It's Prairie New York from Bloomingdales.  I think she looks amazing.

The model in blue is wearing a belted poncho from Michael Kors.  This goes great with jeans & leggings.

The long sleeve black dress is from IGIGI.com & it looks really cute with that thick belt.

The one shoulder dress is from fashiontofigure.com.  It's simple but can be dressed up with accessories.

This next look is very simple but I love it.  The model is just wearing a black jewel neck shell with a pair of jeans.  It's from bloomingdales. You could probably throw on a blazer with this too.

The last look is cute & casual.  It's a color blocked top from DKNY. She's wearing it over leggings with ankle booties & a cute winter hat.

I really hope that you find some inspiration with these looks so that you can create some new outfits and if you do, I would love to see! :) Try something new & be confident with what you choose to wear.  I'm sure it will be fab <3

Something Simple, Something Fun

I went to a holiday party last night & to a few other places in the city.  I wanted to wear something fun & girly and this dress was perfect.  I got a lot of compliments on it too :)  It's from Urban Outfitters and it's a mix of light pink, white, and a little bit of gold & silver.  I decided to bring out the gold & white tones when it came to my accessories.

I'm wearing a thin leather belt from Urban Outfitters & these dark tan suede pumps from Nine West.  Originally I wanted to wear these light pink shoes from Urban but they didn't have them at the store :(  These shoes were still a great fit though and very comfy!

I wore my new gold finger ring from H&M, earrings & big white oval ring from Aldo, and this small heart bracelet from Nordstrom.  I didn't want to go with bangles or over do it on the accessories.  I tried to keep it simple & chic.

I was having a hard time finding a good clutch to go with this so I kept with the color scheme and just used my tan one.

I really like to switch up my outfits.  It all depends on how I'm feeling and where I'm going.  I definitely had a great time last night & this dress was the perfect choice, especially for the holiday season.  I was comfortable, covered up, and still felt fab! I hope you all had a lovely weekend. xo

My Winter Must Haves

The cold is here & there's no escaping it. Winter is right around the corner & here are some things that I suggest getting for the next few months.  They will keep you warm & in style :)

Winter Must Haves

Cowl Neck sweaters like this one from Warehouse are very cozy & right on trend.  I have a similar one from H&M that I love.  If you get the long ones, you can wear them over a pair of tights like these BCBG ones & wear as a sweater dress.  Patterned tights are huge right now.  Put a belt on & you're good to go.

Faux Fur vests are another great way to keep warm.  You can put them over any long sleeve tee, button down, or cardigan.  This one is from Quik Silver but I got mine from H&M.  I've also seen them at Zara & Forever21.

A nice pair of over the knee boots like these from Modcloth for only $45. Not bad!  Try getting a neutral tone like these so that you can wear with almost anything.

A good pair of booties is always nice for the winter, whether it's got a heel or not.  These black ankle booties are from Zara & I will be getting these soon.  They go great with a pair of skinny jeans, especially the red ones from Mango!  These other booties are Vince Camuto.  Very stylish :)

Combat boots!! I love them! I have a pair just like this one. These are from Amazon.  They go great with leggings & skinny jeans.  Sometimes I even wear them with sweats depending on my mood.

I have this exact poncho from H&M.  They have similar ones at other stores too.  Ponchos are another great way to stay warm as long as you wear it over long sleeves & then layer on a long coat like this one from Dorothy Perkins.

RED lips!  You can get a good shade almost anywhere, but I suggest MAC, Nars, or Smashbox.  It will change your entire look.  Longer length pea coats are right on trend and a sure fire way to keep you warm.  Just layer up!

Fingerless gloves are a great way add some edge to your outfits.  These black ones are from Tillys, or you can get the ones that come with a flap to keep your fingertips warm too. These grey ones are from Abercrombie.

Knitted hats & head bands/wraps are great for keeping your ears warm but they are also very trendy.  These are from Dorothy Perkins & Warehouse.  You can also find them at Forever21, H&M, and almost any other store.

A good pair of jeans is essential!! So is a blazer & a nice blouse.  These are from Haute Hippe & Peacocks.  I love this mustard color.  Great for the season.

Don't forget about keeping your neck toasty with a knitted snood like this grey one from Miss Selfridge.  Cozy & stylish :)  Also try getting some fashion scarves with different prints & colors.  They will add more to your outfit and of course help you stay warm too. This rose & cream aztec one is from Dorothy Perkins.

And finally, put a little sparkle on those nails like Essie's Luxeffects top coat.  It's great for the holidays :)

I have a holiday party tonight & can't wait to wear my new dress :) I will be posting pics tomorrow.  Have a great weekend loves!

Selected to Participate in Onward Compe'

I knew that the winners were going to be announced today for the International Onward Compe' photography competition, judged by Todd Hilo.  Usually, I check email in bed before I get up to see if there is anything urgent to do first thing in the morning.  I received a bulk email from the Onward folks with a link to a video where they announced the photographers selected for the show.

I pressed play on my iphone while I was still laying in bed barely awake.  I didn't have my glasses on (which I need when I'm on the computer) so I was squinting to see the names on boards passing through the screen.  As name after name came up, I told myself that I was sure I didn't make it so my focus shifted to see if I knew any of the people announced.

All of a sudden, my name came up.  I was in disbelief.  I rewinded the video to watch it again and paused it on my name to see if the spelling was correct, to be sure that it was actually my name.  I played it again all the way through and then started thinking that it must be another photographer with the same name until they flashed all of the images at the end and I noticed my image, "The Wedding Guest" appear in the blur.

Just to make sure, I had some coffee and looked at the video again.  To my amazement, my name was still there.  The video I woke up to is embedded above.  My name appears at second 54.  I am just thrilled to be included!  Opening reception is February 11th In Philadelphia.  Click HERE for more information.

FEATURE: Inspired to wear...

I just posted yesterday about sending me photos of outfits you put together that were inspired by me & my blog.  I got my first submission today from my friend Jenn, who by the way makes amazing cakes.  Check out her page on facebook https://www.facebook.com/sanctuaryofsweets. Here's the photo she sent & this is what she had to say about this outfit:

"I wore this for a date night in NYC. We were going somewhere casual but nice. I had no idea what to wear and I needed to find something in my closet! I know you said white button downs are a staple piece so I took a risk and brought it out. I tucked it in with skinny jeans and nude pumps. You always said accessories can really jazz up an outfit so I wore my chunky gold necklace, gold bracelet/bangle and my gold hoop earrings.
My husband was amazed on how I put that outfit together! I am usually very nervous to try new things! He gave me a lot of compliments that night and it was a perfect date!
Thanks so much for helping me break out of my comfort level and giving me ideas on how to put easy "staple" pieces together. I felt like a million bucks!"

xoxo Jenn - Rutherford

Doesn't she look fab?! The nude pumps & gold accessories were a great touch for this look and white button downs always go really well with dark jeans. I'm so happy that she was inspired to put this together after reading my blog & getting occassional fashion tips from me :)  Thanks for sending this in Jenn & I look forward to seeing more outfits from you!!

Ruby Woo & Navy Blue

I love the recycle program at MAC makeup!  In case you don't know about it, make sure to save your used containers (eye shadows, lip gloss, blush, etc.) Once you have 6, you bring them in and you get a free lip gloss or lip stick of your choice depending which MAC you go to.  So I got Ruby Woo! It's similar to Russian Red because it's a matte blue based red.  It's a little more dry though so if you get this color I suggest putting a little bit of clear gloss on top.  I have a deep admiration for red lipstick. It can change your entire look instantly.

I have a pair of navy blue skinny trousers from H&M that I haven't worn in awhile so I decided to bring them out of the closet today.  They fit like a glove.  I really do suggest getting jeans & pants in other colors.  There's so many different styles & they can be very flattering.

I went with another white button down that I have from H&M.  As you can see through out my blog, I'm big on button downs.  Then I went with these light grey pumps I have from Mandee & matched it with this handbag from Metro Park. This is one of my favorite bags.  Since it's such a neutral color, it goes with almost anything.

I went with silver accessories, including this bracelet & earrings from Aldo, 2 rings that I've posted on here before & of course Ruby Woo! I've always loved navy blue & red together. I think they compliment each other very well.  The lipstick was a perfect touch for this outfit to add a pop of color, since everything else is neutral & toned down.

This is similar to what I wore yesterday, but I switched it up a little :) The weekend is almost here & I might be going to a holiday party!  Can't wait to post pics if I do!
